Analytical services Glorax Group together with the representatives of “Olymp” sports complex (Moscow Region) conducted a research concerning the attitude of Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Moscow and Leningrad Region’ residents to doing sports and fitness. According to surveys, nearly 73% of citizens do sports from time to time, 24% of respondents admit that they do it in fitness centers.
For the last year the involvement among the population has increased by more than 15%; the index of age limits has also increased. Earlier mostly young people from 18 to 27 often visited fitness centers, now the main part of visitors are between the ages of 14 and 35. Also, the delegates of “Olymp” fitness center have fixed a significant increase of the number of younger age group visitors and a small growth of visitors at the age of 45+.
Polls have shown that the most popular kinds of sport in Moscow Region and Leningrad Region are fitness programs (weight training and group trainings), swimming, football and other team sports. In cities you can see a significant increase in a segment of sport programs for pregnant women, in the infant swimming group and in the sections of early child development. Sport events are getting more and more popular as team events among small and medium businesses. Last few years it was noticed that visitors from local clubs had moved to large multi-functional health centers that offered you a wide range of services. The increase of fitness center clients is up to 18%.
