In preparation for the upcoming racing season, Swiss team Glorax Racing has made plans to renew its vehicle fleet with the purchase of a new Ferrari 488. The vehicle, unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2015, supersedes the previous 458 model.
The new Ferrari 488 is powered by a 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8, which is smaller in displacement and higher in output than the 458’s naturally aspirated V8 engine. The design sets a new benchmark in terms of contribution to performance—active aerodynamics coupled with a spoiler can increase downforce by 50% and further reduce aerodynamic drag in comparison to the 458 model.
This addition to the fleet is only one step in the Swiss team’s diligent preparation for the new season. Earlier this year, Glorax Racing put up a formidable fight in the Blancpain Endurance Series—in the Am Cup, Drivers Rino Mastronardi, Andrey Birzhin and Fabio Mancini collectively took second place at the Silverstone race in Great Britain and first place at Paul Ricard in France.
The team is excited to return to the track next season—stronger than ever, both in terms of equipment and experience.
